Minor Project: Animatic Draft 05

Getting there!! I've made a few more tweaks to the animatic, cutting out the sun as I've noticed that when it comes to the animation, my background would be white therefore the sun would either appear missing or odd as a different shade of grey. I've also changed the timing of the echoes a bit but have ended up with two versions that I really like but can't choose between the two! Echo 1 has a slight "echo-fade" delay and Echo 2 is more abrupt with a slight echo at the end. :)

  1. Hi Joey :)

I prefer 'echo 2' and the timing is much better now at the change point with the eye. I think the flipped scenes work better too now. One thing I'd like you to look at now is the overall effectiveness of your colour scheme; it's not that it doesn't work 'as is', but I just feel that it could be more rich and a bit more impactful - especially in terms of the more abstract sequences. I think you should work closely with the Colour Scheme Designer to work up some really strident, but coherent colour ways for your animation:

Don't misunderstand me - it's not that your existing colour schemes are somehow 'wrong' - I just think the whole visual experience could be more confident still and bolder still :)

  2. Oh - this doesn't mean that you have to remake the entire animatic, Joey - with new colours - but rather create some static concept art or mock-ups that explore colours. I think for your own sanity you should move towards prepping your characters for Maya :)

    1. Hi Phil,

Thanks!! I'll have a go at making these concepts using the colour scheme. :D
