Minor Project: Mink Character Rigged and Skinned!!- Test

It's taken a while but after following tutorials on rigging quadrupeds, a ribbon spine and some humanoid leg joints, the mink is finally rigged!! Rigging this fella was a tad tricky as the limbs worked more like a humans and the spine was slightly more different to making a quadruped's spine. I've taken onboard some pointers from Ethan Shilling, a post-graduate student renowned on advanced rig and maya, on how the rig looks and testing things as I go along. With this in mind, I skinned tested the character a few times to the point that I'm happy with how it looks. The skinning still needs some cleaning up, but I'm too excited in seeing the little guy move that I wanted to animate him for a bit!!

Minor Project: Final Characters Group

With the colour choices made, here are the finalized colours for all the characters. Unlike my animatic, the animals are hardly seen together as a group but doing this helps create a balance between colors that could be used between each character. The next stage now is to start quadruped rigging!! :D

Made this guy have yellow tones instead of blue just to have him look more bright and goes well with the orange.

The Sea Cow was a little bit tricky to work out his colour as originally he had a yellow hue, but orange seemed to work out better for him in terms of standing out from the group. :)

Minor Project: Animals Colour Refinements

Based on feedback from Tutor Alan, I've swapped some colours around in particular the Sea Cows and the Eagle's. I quite like the arrangement of this. :D

It also occurred to me that from my animatic there is an abstract colourful sequence. So I thought I would use this and test out the colours further and here are the results (The fish isn't included as its not in the sequence but instead plays a minor part):
