Minor Project: Sea Mink and Steller's Sea Cow Lighting Adjustments

I thought this would be a good time to focus back on the colours of these two characters whilst working on other things. I've tried out different colours to see which opposing colour would works best with the mink, I feel that the dark blue tones work and when they're in a group, they're different from each animal. As for the Sea Cow, I've made minor adjustments to its hue, hopefully looking a bit more purple-y and brighten up the yellow tones.

Minor Project: Lighting Experiments

More lighting experiments made but leaving out the shadows this time as they appear too distracting. But taking on from the idea of shadows that are casted onto the models influenced me to make them have a rim lighting appearance to them instead to help define its shape more. I've chosen the rim lights' colours as opposites to each animal to make them more stand out. At the moment, I'm debating whether the rim lighting colour for the Sea Mink should be a paler green or yellow. Below are my latest lighting experiments- individual animated lighting tests coming soon! :D

Minor Project: Lighting & Coloured Shadows Experiments

I've tweaked a little on the Eagle model's texture as colour wise, it seemed out of place. :) I've decided to experiment around lighting and coloured shadows. With some pointers from Alan on creating coloured shadows with shaded animals, I've added some extra lights to create a coloured aberration using only red, green and blue for the shadows. At the moment it looks a bit faded as if I boost their levels, this would brighten the scene too much which needs some more working on. Trying to make the colours pop without over exposing the light intensity,  here are some of the experiments made:

Minor Project: Sea Mink Textured Model

Finally the last one of the group!! :) Like the rest of the models, I've textured him on Mudbox using projection paint. Here are the results!! :D

Textured model of my Haast's Eagle done on Mudbox. The hardest bit for me to work around was the little gaps in between each wing segments. Nearly there!! :D

Minor Project: Eastern Elk Textured Model

Eastern Elk textured on Mudbox using the projection paint tool. The antlers were a little tricky to paint around with due to the size but it works now!! :D

Minor Project: Xerces Blue Butterfly Textured

This little guy was pretty easy to texture as there wasn't a lot of parts to paint around except the gaps in between the wings. Again, like the Steller's Sea Cow textured model, I had to go over the textures again as it appeared too blurry at the start. This is the slightly more resolved result. :D
