Character Design Project: Story Synopsis draft 1

For many years, the Vikings believed that the Giants roamed the earth. Later, a group came along and considered themselves to be “The Vanir Gods”, making the people of earth believe them to be their high and mighty Gods as well as their ancestors.  The Vanir Gods treated the people well, until the people began to realize that more and more of their kind began to disappear. The Vanir Gods hide every possible ways on the disappearances, so Odin, one of the strongest people found out the reason of their people’s disappearances. He found that the Gods that they worshiped and had cared for so long were in fact Aliens after seeing strange technology the people had never seen before. The people of earth waged a war lead by Odin against The Vanir Gods, avenging those that went missing. In the end, the people of Earth won and the Aliens defeated and later left the planet. Odin became hailed by the people as their new God and the people of earth in this era became known as The Aesir Gods.

Summer project: 1 becomes 2: Script ideas

I've kinda gone too ahead with designing characters that I've forgotten to put some of my script ideas! Sorry!! I like to have this in the style of Norman McLaren's where the art/ visuals are following to a beat or chord which shapes, symbols etc. changes. So here are some of my ideas for a possible script.

Idea 1:
A montage series of tribal images starting from animals to tribal people which in-between these, shapes form and changes in the process.

Idea 2:
Random shapes morphing and intertwining each other in a tribal like style following the beats of the music.

Idea 3:
Similar to idea 2, symbols representing tribes are seen changing from one form to another along to the beats and chords of the soundscape.

Unit 5: Animation- Script draft 1

Here I have uploaded my script. I'm not sure about naming the title yet but will have a name!! ^_^

Script

I have also included the image and video of the "Goldberg style" plan of how the construction site works whilst the penny farthing is strolling. The plan isn't a neat one, but just to give a rough idea of how it works.

Unit 5:Story line-up??

Here's my story's line-up combining story ending idea 1 from my previous post:

Old partially blind Penny Farthing is out on a stroll,
Penny Farthing sees two signs, one (from the old bike's POV is blurred) reads, "Keep Out- Construction site ahead" (he could also maybe struggles to read it and presumes a "good sign"?)
The sign, in clear reads, "Bike Shop- 1 mile".
Feeling excited, the penny farthing heads happily straight into the construction site unaware of its dangers.
As it happily cycles through, parts of the construction site becomes effected- like frames falling, ramps or construction tubes which creates a bridge for the bike to go across (pretty much in the style of "The Goldberg effect")
A large ramp is made. Penny farthing crosses it
Large construction ball falls from above and lands on the ramp
Launches the penny farthing up in the sky
Penny Farthing lands back to the entrance of the construction site
slightly confused, he happily cycles forward- in the opposite direction away from the construction site.

Unit 5: New story idea

Speaking to TutorPhil yesterday helped inspire me to get a better idea for the Penny Farthing story as the previous idea seemed a bit bland. I've looked at "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" mini episode, "Somethings Cookin'" for some idea of creating havok and danger behind an innocent happy character. I've also looked at Mr Magoo, Tom and Jerry episodes like "The Little Orphan" and "The little Woodpecker" and also Popeye, "Baby Wants Spinach". So here is another story of it set in a construction site and the alternate endings for them.

Old partially blind Penny Farthing is out on a stroll,
Sees two signs, one blurry sign reading"Keep out- Construction site ahead"- the other in clear, "bike shop- 1 mile"
Curious and excited the penny farthing heads straight on without realisng he's entering the construciton site
Various mishaps happens as the penny farthing cycles ahead, like building frames falling, a construction tube acts as a bridge for the bike to cross to the other side

Ending idea 1:

Penny farthing cycles on to a construction ramp (which a demolition ball falls from above) and launches the penny farthing
Penny farthing lands back to the begginning where the two signs are
partially blind and confused, the bike still thinking its going to a bike shop heads straight to the opposite direction- away from the construction site and from the bike shop.

Ending idea 2:

Penny farthing cycles up to a long ramp
slightly speeds up on the way down
finially sees the bike shop and enters

Ending 3:

Penny Farthing cycles on a metalwork frame
stops mid point
looks up to see a large (construction hammer?) from above descending on him
Penny farthing turns white
Cycles at high speed to just get away from getting crushed
Without realising the bike is already at the bike shop door.

Unit 5: Idea refinement

Using the feedback that I received, I have decided to go with idea one from my previous post.

Idea Refinement:
Penny farthing in the garage (all alone and abandoned)
Daydreams of becoming a race bike
One day it decides to go out to practice
Goes through obstacles like puddles, small hills
Goes up a hill
At it goes down, speed picks up and is unable to control itself
Runs over a rock
Falls front first
Breaks handle bars
Confused and lost as it bumps into things like trees (wheels wobble as well)
A more modern- updated bike with briefcase appears
Helps Penny farthing with a newer handlebars and tyres then drives off
Penny Farthing feeling more glad and able to see gives up the idea of driving.
Still not sure about the ending idea bit but let me know what yous think!! ;D

Unit 4: Story-telling: Screenplay draft 3

Here is draft 3 of my screenplay, I'va made changes to the hotel name and the elevator, and the ending of the story. I've also added a bit of an introduciton to the story with an ouside view of the hotel. I'm still deciding over what to have in the Big fish vs Little Fish sequence.

Screenplay draft 3

Unit 4: Storytelling- Big Fish vs Little Fish

Taking on the feedback from TutorPhil about looking at physical humour, pratfalls and farce elements. I've taken some ideas after watching Taz Mania, Tweety and Sylvester, Wile E. Coyote and RoadRunner, Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry cartoons for this.

Unit 4: Story telling- screenplay draft

Screenplay

Here is a screenplay draft based on the story of the fish and the elevator gag. The abbreviated words are just camera angles which I could possibly use?
