What I've been up to...

Its been one long hiatus, but juggling things here and there in the long trek is a challenge. To sum it all up, I've been mostly practising my Photoshop skills here and there during my free time.

Following from my last post which involved me going to Glasgow to showcase my work to International and European artists from different parts of the world as part of ELIA's (The European League of Insitutues of the Arts) NEU/NOW Live Festival 2014. I've had a great time, spending five days where I get to meet people from various art backgrounds as well as showcasing my work just like New Designers. By the end of the five day experience, we've all had to part ways but we still keep in contact. :D

NEU NOW 2014
During the long run, I've been in contact with UCA student, Danny Hewitt who studies Television Studies in Maidstone. He's asked me to help him and his production team to create storyboards as part of their final Major Project which yous can follow more of his project here: (http://dannyhewitt.blogspot.co.uk)

A few of the storyboards w.i.p (left) and the plan outs for shots (right)
As you can see in this post, there was careful planning of shots and discussions of how Danny envisioned his film, 'The Sunday League'. Although I have little knowledge of football, it was interesting to learn some things about it as well as seeing Danny, a big footie fan, able to share some references for me to help illustrate the shots.

Overall, it was a great experience in being able to participate and working with a production team, being able to throw ideas around while also having fun working. I am excited about seeing their film transpiring from the shots Ive drawn into a live action footage. :)

Minor Project: First Draft Storyboards

First draft storyboards, I've intended to keep the background to greyscale so that the colours on the animals can stand out. First draft of the animatic to come soon! :D

Unit 5: Animation- Storyboards

I've managed to create my storyboard based on my 1st draft of the script. Apologies if it looks a bit confusing as I usually stick post-it shots in some places of what I think should come in before the shots.
Act 1- Scene 1
Act 2- Scene 2

Act 2- Scene 2 (cont.) and Act 3- Scene 3 together
Refined on Photoshop

"A Fishy Tale" Animatic

Here's my first practice in making an animatic using the stills from my storyboard. I've a few shots in the animatic just to make things look more clearer. Apologies!! Its nearly 2 mins long but will try and figure out which shots needs to be cut out. I'm not really good with sound/music but feedback and opinions would be greatly appreciated. ^_^

Unit 4: Storyboards

Here are my story boards for my film, I had to split the boards in two as it was too big to fit in the scanner! So I've pieced them back together, there are also some shots that appear to be "out of place" or outside the main boards and while I was working on them, I've added these using sticky notes so apologies for that!! :S
