To help promote Disney's upcoming animated film, 'Coco' that will be released in January, I've been given the task to decorate the cinema in the style of 'Day of the Dead' or notably 'El Dia de Los Muertos'. For this I am currently working on a 'Hall of fame' characters from various films such as the Xenomorph from 'Alien', Lego Batman, Spiderman and many more but with a twist of Day of the Dead theme mixed in. I am excited making this especially working on various characters from different film genres to meet into one theme (while also keeping it family-friendly!). Here are a few examples that I'm currently working on- more to come!!

Cinema Bar revamp
I've been tasked with a cinema marketing team to give a visual representation of their bar area which they're hoping to revamp. We're in the middle of the planning stages at the moment, but taking on reference images of the area I have made a visual representation of the bar area at present. More things will be added later and hopefully some before and after shots- but watch this space! :D

Work experience with Dovetail Games
During the last couple of months I've had the opportunity in working with Dovetail Games as part of work experience. This involved working with their marketing department where I had various tasks ranging from creating banners and advertisement images for various social platforms like facebook, twitter or steam, highlighting their latest products to taking images of the gameplay. During my time there has taught me a lot of things from attention to detail and maintaining quality to learning new techniques on Photoshop.
Below are few of the designs that I got to make:

Sketches: 19/01/2016
I've made a head start on these studies sometime last year and had left them in the backburner for quite a while until within these days I've decided to work on where I've left off. Other than studying these in terms of colour and anatomy, I've also attempted to experiment around with various brushes. ^_^

What I've been up to...
Its been one long hiatus, but juggling things here and there in the long trek is a challenge. To sum it all up, I've been mostly practising my Photoshop skills here and there during my free time.
Following from my last post which involved me going to Glasgow to showcase my work to International and European artists from different parts of the world as part of ELIA's (The European League of Insitutues of the Arts) NEU/NOW Live Festival 2014. I've had a great time, spending five days where I get to meet people from various art backgrounds as well as showcasing my work just like New Designers. By the end of the five day experience, we've all had to part ways but we still keep in contact. :D

NEU NOW 2014 |
During the long run, I've been in contact with UCA student, Danny Hewitt who studies Television Studies in Maidstone. He's asked me to help him and his production team to create storyboards as part of their final Major Project which yous can follow more of his project here: (http://dannyhewitt.blogspot.co.uk)
A few of the storyboards w.i.p (left) and the plan outs for shots (right) |
As you can see in this post, there was careful planning of shots and discussions of how Danny envisioned his film, 'The Sunday League'. Although I have little knowledge of football, it was interesting to learn some things about it as well as seeing Danny, a big footie fan, able to share some references for me to help illustrate the shots.
Overall, it was a great experience in being able to participate and working with a production team, being able to throw ideas around while also having fun working. I am excited about seeing their film transpiring from the shots Ive drawn into a live action footage. :)

CAA Speed Paint Challenge: Jabberwocky 7
Today's challenge took 40 mins to paint. Based on this extract:
"One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back."
